How to Hire an App Development Agency in India

Check the same four things regardless of where the studio is based: a portfolio in your exact stack, direct access to whoever writes the code, pricing broken into clear scope-based tiers, and NDA/IP ownership terms in writing before you sign anything.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • Who actually writes the code? A named developer or team, not just an account manager.

  • What are the NDA and IP ownership terms? Get this in writing before any code gets written, not after.

Red flags

  • Vague, single-number pricing with no scope breakdown.
  • No direct access to the developer building your app — every question routes through a sales or account layer.
  • No written scope document before the build starts.
  • Reluctance to sign an NDA or put IP ownership terms in writing.

Why team size matters
